Exercises with SINO QUE

Usage: “SINO QUE” is used to correct a previous negative clause when the second clause has a different verb.

Example1:

Ellos no solamente sembraron las frutas, sino que también las vendieron.

(They not only planted the fruits, but also sold them.)

Example2:

No solo compró un libro, sino que también lo leyó.

(He not only bought a book, but also read it.)

Other examples:

1. No vino en coche, sino que caminó.

(He didn’t come by car, but walked.)

2. Esa persona no solo cocinó, sino que también limpió la cocina.

(That person not only cooked, but also cleaned the kitchen.)

3. Ellos no se quedaron en casa, sino que salieron con amigos.

(They didn’t stay at home, but went out with friends.)

4. No solo ahorré dinero, sino que lo invertí.

(I not only saved money, but also invested it.)

5. No me ignoró, sino que no me vio.

(He didn’t ignore me, but didn’t see me.)

6. No solo fue a la fiesta, sino que también se divirtió.

(He not only went to the party, but also had fun.)

7. Ella no compró solamente una manzana, sino que compró una docena.

(She didn’t buy just one apple, but bought a dozen.)

8. No solo escuchó, sino que participó activamente.

(He not only listened, but participated actively.)

9. Él no me habló, sino que me escribió una carta.

(He didn’t talk to me, but wrote me a letter.)

10. No se quejó, sino que lo aceptó.

(He didn’t complain, but accepted it.)

11. No solo viajó, sino que también trabajó en el extranjero.

(He not only traveled, but also worked abroad.)

12. No lo dijo en voz baja, sino que lo gritó.

(He didn’t say it quietly, but shouted it.)
