Exercises with SUPERLATIVES in Spanish

Usage: “The general rule is to follow this syntax: ‘article + más + adjective + de/que’ or ‘article + menos + adjective + de/que.’ However, there are exceptions like ‘article + mejor’  or ‘article + peor’.

Examples:

1. María es la más inteligente del grupo. (María is the smartest in the group.)
2. Mi hermano es el mayor de la familia. (My brother is the oldest in the family.)
3. Este coche es el más rápido que he conducido. (This car is the fastest I have driven.)
4. Este restaurante es el mejor de la ciudad. (This restaurant is the best in the city.)

Other Examples:

1. Juan es el más alto de la clase. (Juan is the tallest in the class.)
2. Esa película es la más emocionante que he visto. (That movie is the most exciting I have seen.)
3. Este libro es el más interesante de todos. (This book is the most interesting of all.)
4. París es el lugar más hermoso del mundo. (Paris is the most beautiful place in the world.)
5. Esa canción es la más popular del verano. (That song is the most popular of the summer.)
6. El león es el animal más feroz de la selva. (The lion is the fiercest animal in the jungle.)
7. Toronto es la ciudad más grande de Canadá. (Toronto is the largest city in Canada.)
8. Este es el trabajo más difícil que he hecho. (This is the hardest job I have done.)
9. Este pastel es el más delicioso que he probado. (This cake is the most delicious I have tasted.)
10. Su idea fue la más brillante de todas. (Her/his/your idea was the brightest of all.)
11. Hoy es el día más caluroso del año. (Today is the hottest day of the year.)
12. El Amazonas es el río más largo del mundo. (The Amazon is the longest river in the world.)
13. El Everest es la montaña más alta del planeta. (Everest is the highest mountain on the planet.)
14. Carlos es el niño más travieso de la escuela. (Carlos is the naughtiest child in the school.)
15. Esta rosa es la flor más bonita del jardín. (This rose is the prettiest flower in the garden.)
16. Ese fue el mejor momento de mi vida. (That was the best moment of my life.)
17. El coche de Juan es el más caro de todos. (Juan’s car is the most expensive of all.)
18. La torre Eiffel es una de las más altas de Europa. (The Eiffel Tower is one of the tallest in Europe.)
19. Este examen fue el más difícil del curso. (This exam was the hardest of the course.)
20. Ese es el restaurante menos caro que encontramos. (That is the least expensive restaurant we found.)
